Understanding One Health

A careful introduction to collaboration across human, animal and ecosystem health.

What the evidence supports

One Health is an integrated approach that recognizes the close connections among the health of people, animals, plants and ecosystems. It supports coordination across disciplines when a problem crosses those boundaries.

How to interpret it

The approach does not make every environmental issue a medical problem, nor does it replace specialist expertise. Useful applications define the shared problem, responsible institutions, affected groups, evidence gaps and measurable outcomes.

Scope

This overview is educational and does not provide individual diagnosis, treatment or regulatory advice.
